New details are coming to light about the shocking death of Anne Burrell.
Following the news that the Food Network star had died June 17 at her Brooklyn, New York, home at age 55, the New York City Fire Department told E! News that authorities had received a 911 call that suggested she had gone into cardiac arrest.
Police have also shared futher insight into the time surrounding Anne’s death.
New York City Police Department confirmed to NBC News in a statement that they were called to an address in Brooklyn—one matching Burrell’s personal information—shortly before 8:00 a.m. on June 17 after receiving report about “an unconscious and unresponsive 55-year-old female.” Emergency medical services responded, per the statement, and “pronounced her dead at the scene.”
Burrell’s cause of death is still pending an autopsy with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, according to the outlet.
