Malbon Golf and Gap Release Streetwear-Prep Fashion Collaboration

Malbon Golf has teed up yet another fashionable collab, this time with Gap.

The Los Angeles-based sportswear brand puts its streetwear touch on the preppy-chic brand’s game-ready essentials ($18 to $138) — think performance sweater shirts, polo shirts with chunky stripes, pleated plaid shorts and skorts, herringbone utility vests with matching baggy pants, graphic tees, French terry logo hoodies and more. The 33-piece collection also includes accessories such as baseball caps, and golf club covers. The collection is now available online and in select Gap stores in the U.S.

To celebrate the collab, Gap and Malbon tapped Swedish professional golfer and brand ambassador Jesper Parnevik to model the collection with his adult children, singer-songwriter Peg Parnevik and actor Phoenix Parnevik. The two brands also took over the Plainfield Country Club in Edison, New Jersey, to for the Gap x Malbon Invitational, where attendees such as NY Giants player Dane Belton, Bravolebrity Jesse Solomon, Good Morning America co-host Michael Strahan, rapper Ja Rule and other athletes and stars sported pieces from the collection during a shotgun-style golf tournament.

Married co-founders Erica and Stephen Malbon note in a statement that they “grew up with Gap, so the opportunity to collaborate and bridge golf culture with Gap’s heritage is incredibly exciting. Gap defines what an American brand can look like — it’s where fashion and functionality collide — so we are thrilled that each and every piece reflects, authentically, the DNA of both brands.”

The Gap capsule follows Malbon Golf’s second collection with Jimmy Choo and releases with Ring Concierge, Adidas and more. Malbon’s pieces have been worn by Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Travis Scott and Anthony Anderson, while brand ambassadors include pros such as No. 1 world champion Jason Day; LPGA stars Jeongeun Lee, Charley Hull and Minjee Lee; rising Filipina player Bianca Pagdanganan and others.
