To deter bulk bookings, ticketing agents will be blocked from Tatkal bookings during the highest-demand periods:
- AC classes: 10 AM–10:30 AM
- Non‑AC classes: 11 AM–11:30 AM
- Agents can participate only after this window closes giving real individuals a headstart.
Tech Overhaul to Level the Field
IRCTC’s backend overhaul has paid off. On May 22, the revamped system handled a record 31,814 bookings in 60 seconds, demonstrating its scale and stability.

- 2.5 crore suspicious IDs were deactivated.
