Horror fans will have no place to hide this fall when they enter Halloween Horror Nights’ newly announced Friday the 13th house.
Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Florida have revealed “Jason Universe” as the second maze for their 2025 event, an experience that will pay tribute to one of the horror genre’s most (in)famous terrors, Jason Voorhees, 45 years after the 1980 film spawned a 10-plus film franchise.
For this original storyline, guests will go back to where the legend was born — Camp Crystal Lake — and experience what the parks have dubbed “a vengeance tour” of horrors. Taunted and stalked while navigating Jason’s ramshackle cabin to a decaying main lodge and eerie forest, campers (and victims) will find no refuge as they are flooded with “killer moments” from the masked murderer’s bloody onscreen career.
The house, which will bring guests and the machete-wielding slasher face to face, follows on the heels of the 2024 Hollywood park experience “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy of Leatherface,” which combined an original storyline with tributes to every version of the franchise’s cannibalistic serial killer.
The announcement arrives on this year’s only Friday the 13th and is the second major house reveal for the 2025 iteration of the annual, bicoastal horror event. The first, announced last week alongside ticket sales, promises to bring the world of Bethesda Game Studios’ and Prime Video’s Fallout to life.
This year’s HHN event will kick off on Friday, Aug. 29 at Universal Orlando Resort and Sept. 4 at Universal Studios Hollywood. For the first time, it will also coincide with Universal Destinations & Experience’s Las Vegas horror attraction, Universal Horror Unleashed, which will feature houses based on The Exorcist: Believer, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Universal Monsters and Scarecrow: The Reaping.
Fans of Universal parks will also be able to celebrate the home of cinematic horror at Universal Epic Universe’s classic monsters-themed land Dark Universe, where they can come into contact with characters like Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, the Invisible Man, Dracula and more.
