Bengaluru climbed seven spots to reach fourteenth place in the Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2025, prepared by Startup Genome, a global innovation ecosystem development organisation. Topping the list is Silicon Valley, followed by New York City, London, and Tel Aviv. Boston and Beijing are tied for fifth place.
“Bengaluru’s leap cements its transition from a ‘rising star’ to a top-tier global startup hub, placing it shoulder-to-shoulder with global leaders like Paris (#12), Philadelphia (#13) and Seattle (#15),” Priyank Kharge, Minister of IT & BT and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka, said, according to PTI.
Speaking of startups, drone manufacturer Garuda Aerospace has set up an Agri-Drone Indigenisation facility near Chennai to design and manufacture advanced Unmanned Aerial Systems, among many others, a top official said on Friday.
The facility augments Garuda Aerospace’s existing manufacturing unit located near Chennai, and a major leap in advancing drone manufacturing.
Moving on to the world of sports, India has found a new talent in shooting as 19-year-old Suruchi Phogat, who won her third consecutive ISSF World Cup gold in Munich late last week.
Last year, Manu Bhaker became the first Indian shooter to win two medals at the Olympics in Paris.

After caring for a sick dog, Yash Sathe began building a pet-parenting community where people could ask questions like what to feed their pets, when to visit a vet, or how to care for different breeds.
In 2019, he officially founded Pawzeeble. Sathe initially partnered with NGOs and foster homes to create pet profiles for adoption. This early version of Pawzeeble had a mobile app and helped more than 100 animals get adopted.
