On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, jurors reached a verdict in the Karen Read murder trial: not guilty. While the second-degree murder trial ended with an acquittal, Read was found guilty on the lesser charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.

Following her first trial in 2024 and ahead of her retrial, which began in April 2025, Investigation Discovery released a docuseries, A Body in the Snow: The Trial of Karen Read. For those looking to rewatch content surrounding her trial, the five-parter can be streamed on-demand by adding Max to an existing Hulu subscription (+$9.99/month), or opting for one of the Disney+, Hulu, Max bundles. (See more on each option below.)

First airing over three nights — March 17, 18 and 19, 2025 — the true crime series centers around the murder of police officer John O’Keefe, found dead on a fellow cop’s front lawn in 2022. His girlfriend, former college lecturer Karen Read, was first tried in 2024 for allegedly hitting and killing him with her SUV. She claims to have been framed for the murder, and on June 18, following her heavily televised retrial, she was acquitted of the second-degree murder charge.

For a further look into the case, specifically the retrial, check out the 30-minute episode of the Hulu-exclusive docuseries Impact x Nightline titled Secrets in the Snow: The Murder Retrial of Karen Read.
