Spanish hit crime thriller series La Caza (The Hunt), created by Agustín Martínez, and its fourth season, starring Megan Montaner (30 Coins), Félix Gómez (High Seas), and Silvia Alonso and set to premiere on Movistar Plus+ later this year, took center stage at Conecta Fiction & Entertainment in Cuenca, Spain on Wednesday evening.

Martínez, Alonso and Gómez were joined on stage by executive producer José Manuel Lorenzo (The Gardener) in a session just before the latter received a Conecta honorary award in the evening. Lorenzo is president and founder of DLO Producciones, part of production giant Banijay’s Banijay Iberia.

La Caza was adapted with much success in France under the title Rivière-Perdue, of which a clip was played for the audience.

A teaser clip full of dark, mysterious, and tense scenes set in the forest drew much applause from the Conecta industry crowd. According to a synopsis, the fourth season begins with the inhabitants of a small village discovering the body of a dead woman hanging from a tree. To find out what happened, a team from Spain’s UCO, a division within the Spanish Civil Guard responsible for investigating and prosecuting serious and organized crime, gets sent in.

“Filming has been a pleasure. We shot in amazing places,” Alonso shared about her La Caza experience. “It’s also been very challenging. But we were all amazed by the great locations.”

Gómez echoed that, sharing: “The locations are another protagonist of this series. They have a lot of personality and give personality to each season.”

The forest featured in season 4 is set in Spain’s Navarre region. “I didn’t know Navarre, and I fell completely in love with it,” the actor shared. “You believe that any mythological creature can still live there. It’s absolutely beautiful.”

Conecta this week has featured executives from the likes of Gaumont Television, the Walt Disney Co., Warner Bros. Discovery, Brazil’s Globo, and Spain’s Movistar Plus+, among many others. The ninth edition of the event has featured discussions of key series, production trends, original programming strategies, and the state of the TV and streaming industries.
