Available now at Walmart for $22.70, the blind box includes five different 3-inch dragon plushies you can snag, including the beloved Toothless, the Deadly Nadder, the Monstrous Nightmare, the Gronckle and the Terrible Terror. The plush is contained in a closed totem so you won’t know which dragon you got until you open it. This blind box would make a great gift for fans of the film franchise or the blind box-obsessed person in your life.

Unboxing blind boxes is always an addictive mystery worth the gamble. The ritual of unboxing the product and the excitement and anticipation all culminate into a fun experience. There’s nothing more joyful than getting the figure or keychain you wanted. On the flip side is the feeling of being disappointed when you get the ugliest one in the bunch. It’s a gamble you’ve got to take if you want to get into blind boxes.

The live-action How to Train Your Dragon film was released on June 13 and has received generally positive reviews from critics. Thus far, the film has grossed $358 million worldwide, becoming the ninth highest-grossing film of 2025.

These blind box plushies are great collectibles and make interactive toys for kids too. It’s a smart move for Dreamworks to capitalize on the ever-popular blind box craze. The ritual of pulling plushies, figures and keychains stems from the love of a little trinket. The fixture was once Sonny Angels, but has since shifted to Labubu and Monchichi.

Labubus in particular have garnered extensive hype from celebrities and trinket fans alike. This year alone, everyone from Madonna to BLACKPINK’s Lisa have been seen with the must-have toy clipped to their bags for a maximalist feel. A single Labubu blind box usually retails for $27.99, however, the rise in popularity has made the plushie a hot commodity, raising the price. The monster plush can sometimes be found double or triple their original price on resale markets such as eBay or Poshmark.

The plush is so popular, in fact, that there are fakes that have cropped up, aptly titled “Lafufu,” a play on the word “fake” and Labubu. While it’s quite hard to get your hands on a Labubu these days, your best bet at acquiring the viral plush is to check Pop Mart. The blind-box retailer also has an Amazon storefront, allowing a wider audience the ability to shop.

The Labubu characters were first created back in 2015 by artist Kasing Lung as part of his illustrated book series The Monsters. In 2019, the collectible toys gained more popularity thanks to a partnership with Pop Mart. The virality of Labubus can be likened to collectibles such as Squishmallows.
