    Meesho gets shareholders’ nod for Rs 4,250 Cr IPO

    Social commerce unicorn Meesho is inching towards its IPO dreams, as its shareholders approve the company’s Rs 4,250 crore issue, according to a report.

    According to a report by the Economic Times, Meesho received the approval following an extraordinary general meeting, where its shareholders also approved the plan to designate founder Vidit Aatrey as the chairman, managing director, and CEO of the company.

    Meesho joins the likes of Pine Labs and Wakefit, who have already filed their draft IPO papers with the market regulator SEBI. The social commerce company had recently completed its domicile shift from the US to India. Read more.

    Altimetrik to acquire SLK Software

    Technology company Altimetrik will acquire technology services firm SLK Software for an undisclosed value to strengthen its end-to-end enablement services, expand its customer reach, and reach the goal of $1 billion in annual revenue.

    Upon the closing of the transaction, the combined entity will serve a global customer base of over 150 businesses. Together, the business will employ over 10,000 professionals globally.

    “To enable an AI-first business, a robust data cloud infrastructure that is grounded in product and platform engineering rigour is crucial. Our investment in SLK reflects our intention to deepen our commitment to customers who are looking for digital, AI-driven solutions that enable business value creation at unparalleled speed and scale,” said Altimetrik CEO Raj Sundaresan.

    DPIIT signs MoU with L’Oreal India to support beauty tech startups

    The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with L’Oréal India to enhance collaboration in innovation and entrepreneurship, specifically within the beauty and personal care ecosystem.

    The partnership aims to identify and support high-potential startups working on cutting-edge solutions in areas such as sustainable packaging, beauty tech, inclusive beauty, and anti-counterfeiting.

    As part of this initiative, L’Oréal India aims to host the Big Bang Beauty Tech Innovation Program on the Startup India Portal, offering selected startups mentorship, market access, and potential pilot opportunities.

    AMD India partners with IISc to support semiconductor startups

    AMD India has partnered with the Foundation for Science Innovation and Development (FSID), an incubator affiliated with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, to support the growth of semiconductor startups in India.

    As part of this collaboration, AMD will extend a grant under its CSR programme to AAGYAVISION, a deeptech startup incubated at FSID, which is focused on creating advanced imaging and sensing technologies using semiconductors, radar systems, and AI.

    AAGYAVISION’s full-stack solution includes a custom-designed chip, radar hardware, and software algorithms optimised for real-time control and signal analysis. These next-generation radars are designed to operate in all-weather and low-light conditions and support multi-frequency band operation, enabling accurate object classification and robust civilian security applications.

    Narayana Murthy institutes scholarship for IIM Ahmedabad students

    Infosys Co-founder N R Narayan Murthy has instituted a scholarship in the name of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM A) founding faculty member Jaswant G Krishnayya.

    The first scholarship and a memento were awarded to Viraj Modi, a student from the 2024-2026 batch, who scored the highest in the PGP-1. To be awarded annually, this full-fee, inflation-protected scholarship will support a second-year student from the flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), who has demonstrated exceptional academic performance in their first year and achieved the highest CGPA at the end of the first year of the PGP programme.

    The scholarship, funded by Murthy for a period of 20 years, will fully cover the recipient’s annual tuition fee, hostel expenses, course material, and mess charges for the duration of the two-year PGP programme.
