Tata-backed online grocery platform Bigbasket on Monday said it appointed Manish Bajoria as its new Chief Financial Officer, who will now oversee the company’s finance function and contribute to its financial planning and strategy.
With over two decades of experience in finance and commercial management across various industries, he previously served as the CFO of Vini Cosmetics, leading efforts for financial management and digital initiatives. He has also held finance leadership roles at Amazon and Hindustan Unilever, focusing on operations, financial planning, and team development.
Bajoria started his career at Tata Steel and is a Chartered Accountant by qualification.
“He [Manish] brings deep financial experience and a practical understanding of how businesses work on the ground. His steady approach and ability to work through complex situations will be a real asset as we continue to scale and stay focused on what matters, serving our customers better and building a strong, sustainable business,” said Hari Menon, CEO of Bigbasket.
“I am excited to join Bigbasket at a time when the company is scaling rapidly and redefining the grocery and convenience ecosystem in India. I look forward to working with the leadership team to improve financial processes, support growth, and create lasting value for customers, partners, and employees,” said Bajoria.
The appointment comes amid a series of leadership changes in the quick commerce sector. Eternal, formerly Zomato, elevated Aditya Mangla as CEO of its food delivery and ordering business and strategic mobility platform, following Rakesh Ranjan’s two-year tenure.
In December, Zomato’s quick commerce arm Blinkit also appointed Flipkart veteran Vipin Kapooria as its CFO.
