The original doctors are scrubbing back in.
Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke will be joining the upcoming Scrubs revival, per multiple outlets, reprising their roles of Christopher Turk and Elliot Reid, respectively. They are joining Zach Braff, who was previously announced to be reprising his role as J.D.
The series is set to air on ABC during the 2025-2026 season, alongside sitcoms Abbott Elementary and Shifting Gears.
Bill Lawrence, the original series creator, is especially excited to bring the original stars back.
“Scrubs means so very much to me,” he shared with Variety in the July 10 announcement. “So excited for the chance to get the band back together.”
The revival comes 15 years following the finale of the original series, which ran for nine years. And getting back to Sacred Heart Hospital been a long time coming.
“We’re gonna do it because we’re lucky enough that people care,” Lawrence noted in 2022 at an ATX Festival session alongside the series’ stars. “Top to bottom, we enjoy spending time with each other. If you ever have an excuse to work with people that you’d want to spend time with anyways, run to it… It’s worth it to me to see Neil back in that jumpsuit again.”
