When Pankaj Jain started VeUp Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (originally Versatile SMShub) in 2014, his goal was simple but ambitious: fix the broken, fragmented communication infrastructure that enterprises in India relied on. A decade later, VeUp has transformed itself into a full-stack CPaaS (Communication Platform-as-a-Service) company, serving sectors like BFSI, fintech, edtech, ecommerce, healthcare, and logistics.
“It’s been an incredible journey. We’ve evolved from a reliable SMS gateway to a product-first, AI-driven omnichannel platform—and every challenge along the way shaped us into what VeUp is today,” says Pankaj Jain, Founder and CEO of VeUp Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
While Digital Transformation has been the industry buzzword for the past decade, businesses that truly prioritize customer experience are fast jumping onto the CPaaS bandwagon. In fact, the CPaaS market in India is set to grow to $2.7 billion by 2029, according to a study by Nasscom Community, reflecting a growing demand for smarter and personalised communication infrastructure.
The VeUp differentiator: Not just a platform, a promise delivered
While most players in the CPaaS space rely heavily on third-party integrations and resell APIs, VeUp takes a product-first approach.
“Most of our competitors are aggregators; we are a product company,” Pankaj says. “That means better security, faster customization, real-time support, and, most importantly, a communication engine that evolves with customer needs.”
VeUp’s standout offerings include:
AI-powered omnichannel platform that auto-selects the best communication channel—SMS, WhatsApp Business API, RCS, voice, and email—based on user behavior, delivery success, and cost.
WhatsApp Business API with chatbot integration, enabling intelligent and engaging two-way communication.
Enterprise-grade OTP and SIM binding solutions, widely adopted by banks and NBFCs to improve verification, prevent fraud, and support KYC.
Middleware and APIs tailored to large enterprises that need to integrate modern messaging into legacy systems without losing control.
Innovation at the core
While VeUp rolls out improvements regularly, Pankaj is especially excited about four recent innovations that are already reshaping client outcomes. The AI-powered channel optimizer is a smart routing engine that chooses the best channel based on delivery patterns, user behavior, and urgency. “It’s already helping clients cut costs by up to 30% while improving delivery rates dramatically,” he notes.
Next, VeUp’s real-time SIM binding with device intelligence is a leap forward for fraud prevention and KYC compliance. This tool detects SIM change history, active SIM status, and real-time telecom data correlation; empowering better lending and verification decisions.
Their omnichannel journey builder (Beta) is a visual drag-and-drop tool for designing personalized, multi-channel customer journeys across WhatsApp Business API, SMS, RCS, voice, and email. “This gives marketing and ops teams powerful autonomy,” explains Rakesh Samdariya, Chief Information Officer, at VeUp. “They don’t have to wait for engineering anymore.”
The real-time delivery intelligence dashboard is a live dashboard showing delivery health by geography, operator, and channel with alerts for drops, DLT issues, or template rejections. “For enterprises that send millions of messages daily, this level of transparency is a game-changer,” Pankaj says.

Expansion plans
VeUp’s target regions for expansion include:
- Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar): High compliance, high volume. VeUp’s secure, locally deployable stack is a perfect fit.
- Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam): Fintech and ecommerce are booming. VeUp’s multi-language support and optimized delivery help clients scale smartly.
- Tier II and Tier III cities in India: Emerging NBFCs, edtechs, and healthtech startups now demand enterprise-grade communication at local scale and price points.
The company’s target industries include healthcare (secure test alerts, patient reminders, and HIPAA-aligned flows); logistics and mobility (real-time driver and delivery updates via event-based APIs); and education ( digital engagement tools for students and parents in multiple languages).
“These markets are underserved by global players and overpromised by aggregators. We offer the trust, intelligence, and support they actually need,” Pankaj says.
The impact
A standout example of VeUp’s impact lies in its partnership with a leading digital lending NBFC, which scaled from a few thousand daily OTPs to over 30 million API hits per day, powered entirely through VeUp’s platform. Facing high OTP drop-offs, channel failures, and compliance roadblocks, the NBFC turned to VeUp and saw transformative results such as a 28% reduction in drop-offs, a 3X increase in successful customer onboarding, real-time dashboards for delivery health and compliance, and zero downtime, even during peak 30 million daily API hits.
From SIM-binding and smart fallback logic to dedicated solution engineers on standby, the partnership highlights what VeUp does best.
“We’re not just a communication vendor, but a technology partner that understands the urgency of business, the nuance of regulation, and the expectations of end-users,” Puneet Mishra, Chief Technology Officer at VeUp, asserts. “We build what matters, adapt at speed, and deliver at scale—precisely what high-growth enterprises need in today’s real-time world.
From CPaaS to global CxPaaS
VeUp is not stopping at being India’s most reliable CPaaS. Its vision over the next five years is to evolve into a global Customer Experience Platform-as-a-Service (CxPaaS), redefining how enterprises build trust with their customers.
VeUp’s roadmap is anchored in expanding its footprint across every geography and customer segment, from rural banks in India to enterprises in Southeast Asia, becoming the invisible but vital communications layer for businesses everywhere. The company is redefining what true omnichannel means—moving beyond APIs to deliver predictive engagement, visual campaign workflows, and consent-led communication built on privacy-first principles.
With BFSI-grade compliance at its core, VeUp embeds SIM binding, DLT template governance, KYC-grade verification, and real-time audits across all channels. Its growth strategy includes a partner-led global expansion, working with telcos and fintech platforms to stay locally relevant while scaling internationally.
At the heart of it all is VeUp’s commitment to building 100% of its tech in India and taking that homegrown engineering excellence to the global stage. “We believe that world-class tech doesn’t have to come from the Valley—it can be built in India, by engineers who understand real problems deeply,” says VeUp’s CIO Rakesh.
