Miley Cyrus, Lorde, Tate McRae Drop New Music: Which Is Best?

The last week of May is coming to a close, and it’s shaped up to be a big one for pop music releases.

Miley Cyrus leads the charge with a full album of new music that dropped Friday (May 30), Something Beautiful, featuring the singles “End of the World” and “More to Lose.” The high-energy visual album — which will be paired with a film premiering for one night only in theaters — marks the Hannah Montana alum’s first LP since 2023’s Endless Summer Vacation, which spawned the Grammy-winning eight-week Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “Flowers.” At an intimate listening party in Los Angeles, Cyrus also revealed to fans that Something Beautiful is only the beginning, teasing, “My next album is about to be extremely experimental, so have fun with that.”

Two other major forces in pop — Lorde and Tate McRae — also dropped music this week. The former’s new single “Man of the Year” finds the New Zealand native at her rawest, turning inward as she examines her amorphous gender identity ahead of June-slated album Virgin. The latter unveiled club-ready track “Just Keep Watching” for the F1 film soundtrack, taking no breaks after her Morgan Wallen duet, “What I Want,” became her first-ever Hot 100 No. 1 earlier this week.

But with Clipse and Ava Max dropping fresh singles, and artists such as Leon Thomas, Mt. Joy and Yeule also unveiling new LPs, that’s only just scratching the surface of all the music that emerged this week. Tell Billboard which project is your favorite by casting your vote below.
