India will announce more homegrown foundation-model teams in the next few days, with the government hoping to ultimately fund around 15 to 20 large and small language models as part of the IndiaAI Mission, Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary at MeitY and CEO of IndiaAI, said at Semicon India.
