Walmart-backed Flipkart’s head of product, category experiences and new channels, Ravi Krishnan, took to LinkedIn to announce his departure from the ecommerce major after a decade-long stint.

“Across multiple roles—from building industry-leading capabilities in mobiles and electronics growth, to leading and growing the large appliances BU, and finally crafting cutting-edge and impactful products across labs and catex/new channels—it’s been an exhilarating, humbling, and rewarding journey!,” shared Krishnan in a post on LinkedIn.

In his latest charter as Head of Product, he was responsible for the growth of its existing and new businesses. He led new business initiatives including automotive sales and Flipkart for Business, worked on recommerce efforts, and scaled video, Shopsy, and AI-led shopping experiences.

Prior to that, in March 2023, he was appointed as the head of Flipkart Labs, a unit housed under the Product Strategy and Deployment (PSD) arm of the Flipkart Group. He led explorations into emerging technologies such as 3D, AR, Metaverse, Web3, and Generative and incubated next-gen shopping experiences, including virtual try-ons, AI-driven personalisation, and NFT-based loyalty programmes.

In his early career at Flipkart, he was leading the ecommerce player’s appliances and TVs categories.

In February this year, the Walmart-backed platform’s VP for Ads Sandeep Karwa departed, after serving in the role since May 2024. At the same time, Flipkart’s Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO) Jeyandran Venugopal also left the platform due to personal reasons. After that, Ankit Jain, SVP and Head of Operations joined Swiggy’s quick commerce arm Instamart as SVP of Operations.

Last month, the ecommerce major promoted Ravi Iyer, Senior Vice President of its Corporate Business unit, as the finance chief of its ecommerce arm. Iyer will be reporting to Flipkart Group CFO Sriram Venkataraman.
