George Clooney is still showing support for his former co-star Noah Wyle, years after ER ended.

The two-time Oscar winner made a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where he praised Wyle’s new show, The Pitt, which has been met with success and rave reviews.

“Have you guys seen that show?” Clooney asked the audience after host Seth Meyers mentioned it. “It’s so good.”

The Wolfs actor added that he and Wyle have “been really dear friends since we did the pilot [for ER]. He is just the most honorable, talented young man. I get to say [that] because I’m an old man and I cannot be happier for his success on the show. The show is just a beautiful show, and he does just a great job with it.”

Clooney and Wyle, who played Doug Ross and John Carter, respectively, starred alongside each other on the hit medical drama for five seasons before Clooney exited the series to focus on other acting endeavors. Wyle continued with the show through season 11, making guest appearances in seasons 12 and 15. ER ran from 1994 to 2009.

He later quipped to Meyers that he “hated” Wyle because he “never had trouble” with memorizing all the medical terms on ER, unlike him. “People should hate Noah,” Clooney joked, drawing laughter from the audience.

Now, the Leverage: Redemption actor has found himself leading another medical drama, HBO Max’s The Pitt. The series centers on the daily lives of healthcare professionals in a Pittsburgh hospital as they juggle personal crises, workplace politics and the emotional toll of treating critically ill patients.
