Van Hunt has a heart full of questions, but he’s still waiting for Halle Berry to answer the biggest one.

Indeed, while the “Seconds of Pleasure” singer revealed he has popped the questions to his longtime love, wedding bells aren’t ringing just yet.

“So I put out the proposal, and it’s still on hold as you can see,” Van, 55, shared during a joint interview with Halle for Today.com published June 4. “It’s just out there floating. You know, maybe you can encourage her.”

As for why she hasn’t given her answer, the Oscar winner already feels secure about where their five-year-romance stands.

“Well, I’ve been married three times,” Halle, 58—previously wed to David Justice, Eric Benét and Olivier Martinez—explained. “Van has been married once, and so no, we don’t feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way. We don’t.”

“But I think we will get married just because, out of the people I’ve been married to, this is the person I should have married,” she continued. “And I feel like I should, we should get married, but it’s not because we feel like we have to. I think it’s something that we would like to do just because we want that expression.”
