New details about the body discovered near Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island home have been confirmed.
The South Kingstown Police Department announced in a June 13 press release that the remains were identified by the state medical examiner’s office as 31-year-old Eric Wein. Wein, a resident of Massachusetts, per authorities, was reported missing on April 18, days after his vehicle was found in South Kingstown, Rhode Island, on April 10.
Wein’s remains were discovered on the morning of May 14 in the coastal town of Westerly—less than a mile from where the “Blank Space” singer has a home, authorities told NBC News in a statement.
“After working closely with the Mansfield Police Department and the Rhode Island Office of the State Medical Examiners, the South Kingstown Police Department has formally concluded its investigation,” the statement release June 13 read. “No foul play is suspected. “We extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Wein’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
