    IAG Names Kyle Loftus President

While many agents jump from representation company to representation company, or even segue to management, Kyle Loftus has remained a steadfast employee of Independent Artist Group.

Starting out as an intern 16 years ago, when the agency was named APA, he moved up the ranks deal by deal, first becoming a television lit agent and, more recently, head of motion picture and television lit, all the while repping the enterprises of 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige.

Now, Loftus is taking on an executive role, being named president of IAG, the company announced Wednesday. In addition to the new title, he also joins the IAG’s board of directors. Only in mid mid-30s, Loftus may be one of the youngest presidents in the annals of full-service agencies.

Loftus is being promoted from his role as executive vp, head of content development, where, along with repping a roster of high-profile clients, he oversaw the motion picture and TV lit, alternative TV, media rights, and publishing departments. Per IAG, his leadership in those areas helps the agency seamlessly align IAG clients’ ambitions into cohesive, strategic representation.

As president, he will continue those responsibilities while taking on a broader leadership role across all departments and key agency initiatives. The company notes that he was a key figure in the successful 2023 merger of APA and AGI, which created IAG. He was named partner in 2018.

IAG CEO Jim Osborne called Loftus’ ascension to president “a natural progression,.”

“Through his leadership, we’ve created multiple strategic pathways to help our clients diversify and grow their businesses,” said Osborne. “His exceptional ability to connect talent, music, IP, and literary assets has consistently yielded lucrative results for our clients, making this work a cornerstone of IAG’s brand in the marketplace. Kyle’s influence extends beyond client outcomes. He is a role model for agents at every stage of their careers.”

Osborne heaped lofty praise on Loftus, adding, “Without question, Kyle is the finest agent I’ve ever worked with—and I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the industry’s best.”

One of the ways IAG has sought to differentiate itself from other agencies is with a strong focus on their clients’ beyond in front of camera work. With 50 Cent, the rapper-turned-actor’s G-Unit Film & Television banner has created a constellation of hit franchises, including the number one Starz series, Power. It launched a universe of spin-offs, and has additional series in development. His company also produced the hit Black Mafia Family and is now working on the recently announced series Fightland for Starz and ABC’s For Life, among many others. That is on top of creating a FAST channel for the man who also continues to push hard on a music career, with his 2023 Final Lap Tour grossing over $100 million and a European tour, dubbed The Legacy Tour, slated for this summer.

Blige, who was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, produces content for many outlets, including movies on Lifetime through her Blue Butterfly Productions. In April, she starred in and executive produced a global streaming concert event from Madison Square Garden in partnership with VEEPS as part of her successful For My Fans North American tour.

Loftus also was involved in the multiple Emmy-winning concert special The 100th: Billy Joel Live at Madison Square Garden, which aired on CBS to over 20 million viewers and the concert film Ghost: Rite Here Rite Now, which became the highest-grossing hard rock concert film of all time, surpassing a record long held by rock legends Queen.

“Reaching this professional milestone at IAG is incredibly rewarding,” said Loftus in a statement. “This company believed in me from day one, and I have so many amazing colleagues, mentors, clients, and friends to thank, most importantly, my partner and friend Jim Osborne, who has been an unwavering champion.”

Extolling the company, he continued, “We have a fantastic team at IAG, and I am proud to step into this role, lend my support and expertise across the agency, and continue amplifying the IAG story by championing the growth of our exceptionally talented clients.”

Loftus will continue to represent a range of writers and showrunners, Adam Higgs (FUBAR), Leann Bowen (Ted Lasso) and Terri Edda Miller and Andrew Marlowe (The Equalizer) among them. He is married to Christina Lehmann, who is  a vp of drama development at NBC/Peacock.
