Jack Henry Robbins gained a near-instant online following when his “Day in the Life of a Nepo Baby” bits began going viral. Son of award-winning actors Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, the writer-director and “accidental” actor (in his own words) has won audiences over with his flawless delivery, self-deprecating comedy style and on-the-nose references. Now, Robbins is using his whip-smart humor and distinctive social media persona to address a very real problem: the diaper crisis.

“I’ve always thought that comedy was the best way of grabbing people’s attention, disarming people and basically getting [them] to watch something,” Robbins exclusively tells The Hollywood Reporter. That, precisely, is the actor’s approach to his partnership with the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) and accompanying PSA: Nepo Babies for Babies.

“I think that people, unfortunately, are more likely to click on something that says ‘nepo baby’ than ‘diaper crisis,’” Robbins continues. And he isn’t wrong. According to research from advertising agency Tombras, in 2024, the term “nepo baby” received 99.8% more media coverage than the term “diaper crisis.” He’s hoping this video — a blend of his signature comedy and little-known information about our dire diaper need — generates awareness and action.

Launched in 2011 with support from founding sponsor Huggies, the National Diaper Bank Network provides essential resources to children and families in need through its network of over 240-member diaper banks across the United States. Robbins urges viewers to visit nepobabiesforbabies.org to learn more about the nonprofit organization’s mission and support their efforts in ending diaper need in America with donations of diapers, money or time.

“Basically my life was able to become like a bit… when things were happening out in the world, I could suddenly get into character and make people laugh,” the entertainer adds of his start on social media. “Now that I’m in the position where I can actually use comedy to raise awareness about important things is awesome, and I’m just very blessed that I can help out in any way I can.”

As for what Robbins has in the works, all he can say is, “I might have a big announcement soon in this world… I’m very excited.” Mysterious.
