Michelle Trachtenberg’s boyfriend Jay Cohen is speaking out about his grief journey.
After the Gossip Girl alum died in February at age 39, her partner thanked his inner circle for supporting him in his time of mourning as he shared how he’s staying upbeat.
“I am so grateful to all of you who are in my life sharing our common joys, helping me with tragedies and healing from pain and grief,” he wrote in a July 10 post on his Instagram page, which is private. “I’m sure many of you know what I mean when I write that.”
While Jay, a partner at the Gersh Talent Agency, did not mention his late girlfriend by name in his post, he told a user in the comments that he would share more about the actress “one day soon,” adding in a subsequent comment, “Michelle was loved by so many.”
Michelle—whose cause of death was ruled as complications of diabetes mellitus by the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office—largely kept her relationship with Jay out of the public eye, but she did offer a sweet glimpse at their romance just weeks before her death.
