Olympian Ryan Lochte Speaks Out on Wife Kayla Reid Filing for Divorce After 7 Years

Ryan Lochte and Kayla Reid were going through financial struggles ahead of their breakup.

One week after the former Playboy model confirmed she had filed for divorce from the Olympian, it was revealed the former couple have amassed over $270,000 in debt, according to documents obtained by Us Weekly. This includes, per the outlet, an unpaid balance of $99,696.09 owed to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), for the years 2021 and 2022.

Beyond the tax bill, the local homeowners association in Gainesville, Florida, where they reside, filed a $2,231.76 lien on their home. The Fletcher Park Owner’s Association, according to the docs obtained by Us, cited the estranged couple for a range of unpaid fees including, “special assessments, late fees, costs of collection [and] attorney’s fees.”

The largest portion of their outstanding debt, according to the documents, stems from bills accrued at the Shands Teaching Hospital and Clinic, where Ryan received treatment in November 2023 and February 2024. The medical facility is seeking $127,977.73 for the former swimmer’s first visit, with $39,720.15 for his subsequent treatment a few months later.
