Mumbai-based upskilling firm Imarticus Learninghas acquired Bengaluru-based learning platform MyCaptain in a Rs 50-crore cash-and-stock transaction.

MyCaptain helps college students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals build skills and explore opportunities in emerging, non-technical fields. It has built a presence across 1,500+ campuses, with 60% of its users coming from Tier II and III cities and 80% pursuing creative or entrepreneurial paths.

The acquisition of the education-focused platform, which claims to have supported over 5 lakh learners, aligns with Imarticus Learning’s goal to reach 5 million learners in the next three years and expand into Tier II and III cities.

This acquisition brings Imarticus into the college skilling space through MyCaptain’s 60+ live, cohort-based programmes focused on emerging career fields.

By integrating MyCaptain’s employability boot camps—which focus on areas such as digital marketing, design, and content—Imarticus plans to extend its offerings to the offline format via 20+ classroom centres in over 16 cities.

“Our collaboration with MyCaptain marks a pivotal step in strengthening Imarticus’ vision to be the lifelong career partner for learners across their journey,” Nikhil Barshikar, Founder and CEO of Imarticus Learning, said.

MyCaptain marks Imarticus Learning’s fourth acquisition in four years. Its previous acquisitions are learning company Hero Mindmine, game-based learning platform StratOnBoard, and social learning platform Eckovation.

Barshikar explained that while previous acquisitions have helped the company diversify its portfolio and address evolving learner needs, MyCaptain will help the firm deepen accessibility in non-tech career domains and significantly expand its reach in Tier II cities and beyond.

With the acquisition, Imarticus’s team will grow to over 850 people.
