Who says brides get to have all the fun?
Vera Wang chose a très chic little black dress-with-a-twist to wear for her 76th birthday celebration with friends at the Le Relais Plaza in Paris on June 27.
While known for her iconic wedding gowns and other voluminous red carpet couture, the designer tends to go for less fabric when dressing herself, the better to accentuate her petite 5-foot-3 frame.
In this case, what at first glance could look like a minidress with boots was actually a long slip dress with a sheer panel showing off plenty of thigh.
Wang completed her timeless, backless look with a golden “76” bedazzled on her upper left arm.
“Just celebrating my 75 9/10 – 76th birthday NEW YORK TIME with my Parisian crew and a few others who have been lifelong besties!” she wrote on Instagram June 28, captioning several photos of herself literally walking the walk. “Thank you all for this special special night!”
And it’s no surprise that the native New Yorker has no problem wearing her age on… well, where her sleeve would otherwise be.
