16 and Pregnant’s Whitney Purvis Says Ex Prevented Her From Attending Son Weston’s Funeral

Whitney Purvis is facing legal trouble.

The 16 and Pregnant star was arrested in Floyd County, Georgia, on July 7 for involuntary manslaughter, according to police records obtained E! News.

According to a statement of criminal charges shared by police with E! News, Purvis also faces two charges relating to controlled substances—the first, a felony charge for the possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and the second a misdemeanor charge for the “use of communication facility in commission of a felony involving controlled substances.”

An affidavit for arrest obtained by E! News confirms the arrest is related to an incident from February 16.

“Whitney Blake Purvis did commit the offense of Aggravated Involuntary Manslaughter,” the affidavit reads, “when she, without intent to cause the death of another human being, intentionally distributed a substance presented as ‘Tranq,’ commonly known as Xylazine and Fentanyl, to the victim, which directly contributed in the victim’s death due to a toxic overdose.”
